Our dedication to accreditation underscores our determination to set and achieve high standards of excellence. All of our Agencies adhere to the highest standards of Home Care delivery.

ACCREDITATION
We are currently accredited by the following organizations:

Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation:

  • The Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, independent organization responsible for the accreditation of hospitals, long-term care facilities and numerous other health care programs.
  • The mission of the CCHSA is to promote excellence in health care and the effective use of resources in health services organizations nationally and internationally in order to improve the delivery of health services.
  • In 2003, Calgary Home Support Services, Edmonton Home Services and Care-Plus all achieved full CCHSA accreditations for their Home Care Programs.
  • In November of 2006, Aetas Health Care was re-accredited by the CCHSA, and achieved a full 3 year accreditation at each of our operating sites in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, and Hamilton for our Home Care Programs and Services.
  • In addition to recognizing Aetas' excellence in compliance with the accreditation standards, the CCHSA praised us for our quality and recognized Aetas as having several industry-leading best practices in terms of our Supervisor Workbook, our Strategic Planning Process, our FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Assessment) to reduce medication error, and our Human Resource Employee Handbook

Alberta Association of Services for Children and Families:

  • The AASCF provides certification and accreditation jointly with Alberta Children's Services and the Child and Family Services Authorities to establish and govern standards of practice for agency programs, develop standards for residential and community childcare services and promote interagency communication.
  • Our Social Services Team has achieved accreditation, granted by the Alberta Association of Services for Children and Families.

  • In-Home Support Program
  • We are due to undergo our next AASCF survey in 2007.

Alberta Council of Disability Services:

  • The Alberta Council of Disability Services, (formerly the Alberta Association of Rehabilitation Centres) was established in 1972 by a group of vocational service operators, and has since evolved into a not-for-profit association. ACDS's mandate is to provide support to rehabilitation service providers of community-based services for persons with disablities. ACDS concerns itself with providing its membership with education, accreditation, and advocacy.
  • Calgary Home Support Services achieved certification for its programs offering services for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) in 2003.
  • Calgary Home Support Services underwent it's most recent ACDS review in December, 2006. We attained a full three-year certification, and we were praised for our compliance with all standards.

ISO 9001:2000:

  • ISO 9001:2000 is a set of quality management standards recognized and respected around the world. Quality is insured by adhering to a set of quality standards and indicators, and subjecting our Agency to external reviews and audits.
  • Care-Plus regularly reviews, updates and refines its internal processes and protocols to insure responsiveness to customer and client needs.
